And darling, it was good
never looking down
And right there where we stood
Was holy ground.

Sometimes things don’t always end in the best way, the way we wish they would. Sometimes we don’t want them to end at all, and they do anyways. So maybe when we look back on something, whether it’s a relationship or a school you went to, or even a song you thought was amazing until it was played 3.000 times on the radio, the memories seem tainted by the way that something ended.

But it might’ve been good while it lasted. Everything that came before the end might’ve been something good, something sweet. Something to celebrate.

We often tend to define things by the way they end, I think because the end is the most recent, prominent memory that we have. But even if they story we remember didn’t end in happily-ever-after, maybe it started with happy.

Things don’t always begin the same way they ended. Looking back, you might see that where you standing, before the end, was holy ground.
